Evening Machine was formed in January 2017 by Emile Hoogenhout, and Neill and Francois de Villiers. The three had an instant musical connection and saw that the project had potential. After spending time exploring possibilities, they set out to produce an EP. A year later the group met with Lebo Mochudi, whose style complemented the music (and the group) so well that he joined that day.
